Bela Gil, 37, was thrilled during GNT’s fair skirt, on Wednesday night (18), when the program approached the relations between siblings. The presenter and chef commented on the connection with her sister, Preta Gil, 50, who is currently performing experimental treatment in the United States against colorectal cancer, diagnosed in January 2023.
“She is a very strong woman who always inspired me. I was her little doll as a child, we have more than ten years apart,” began Bela.
The presenter cried when reporting how she feels when she saw the singer’s suffering because of the side effects of treatment. “I think one of the worst things in life is seeing who you love suffering somehow. And this disease is very cruel, brings a lot of suffering to her life-a lot nausea, malaise. Sister, I love you so much,” he said.
Bela did not hide that soon she will travel to closely follow the treatment of black. “In a moment we will be close again. I just wanted to send you, once again, my love and say that you are one of the most wonderful women and one of my greatest inspirations,” he said.
Hours earlier, the singer had published in Instagram Stories an unprecedented record of a therapy session, which appears accommodated in a hospital chair. Gilberto Gil’s daughter chose an excerpt from the song why we are like this?, By Cazuza. “One more dose, of course I’m in the mood,” he wrote.
Preta received the diagnosis of colorectal cancer in early 2023. In August 2024, she posted an Instagram video revealing that the disease had returned in four locations in the body: two lymph nodes, a peritoneum metastasis and an ureter lump. Four months later, she underwent surgery of approximately 21 hours to remove the tumors and had to place a definitive colostomy bag.
The singer also did Tara chemotherapy and radiotherapy in Brazil and decided to start a new phase of care outside the country, after recurrence of the disease with metastases. The singer was approved to participate in clinical protocols in the United States, focusing on new therapies that are still in the testing phase and has been there for over a month.
