This year’s event marks the 70th anniversary of the festival, which is one of the country’s most important cultural institutions. The closure of the theater, which counts over 18 centuries of life, is considered a blow to the audience that has identified its summers with unique music and theatrical nights under the stars.
The Conservatory of Herod Atticus is one of the most iconic open spaces of culture in the world, with internationally recognized acoustic and architecture. The need to protect and maintain it requires its temporary closure, with the promise of returning refreshed.
