Errikos Anagnostopoulos, a distinguished Greek director of television series, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, causing sadness in the artistic space.

Born in Athens, Anagnostopoulos studied cinema in London, while becoming more widely known through the direction of the successful series “Airi Silences” and “Ambitions”, which were screened at MEGA and hired the television audience in the 2000s.

The news of his death was announced by the Society of Greek Directors, describing him as “incompatible creator with generosity”. His work, which linked atmospheric directing choices with exciting interpretations, left an indelible mark on the evolution of Greek fiction.

His absence is an important gap for Greek television and the public will always remember the only way he gave life to characters and stories, causing strong emotions and social dialogue.
