The curtain closes today on the 37th Panhellenic Amateur Theater Festival of Karditsa.
A curtain that was raised after two years of absence due to the pandemic and with many difficulties.
That is why this year’s celebration of the theater looks like a real Revolution. As a recovery of lost time, as a reconnection with the social life in our city, which was interrupted so abruptly and, indeed, how strong a bet it is whether it will start again, because we are moving away from the obvious: socialization, celebration and collective joys .
Even under these circumstances, the 37th Panhellenic Festival of Amateur Theater of Karditsa became a reality and was a resounding form of resistance against everything black, miserable and suffocating.
For ten days, our city wore the festive welcome of this “spring ritual”, as the Jury itself characterized the Festival.
Throughout the event, the audience had the opportunity to watch either from the Municipal Cinema Hall, or online a total of seven theatrical performances (unfortunately the eighth troupe could not take part), honorary tributes to the actors Leonidas Kakouris and Mary Vidris , to the playwright Iakovos Kampanellis, to whom this year’s event is dedicated, and to the director Nikos Koundouros, while today, at the End, we will enjoy the Music School of Karditsa, an integral part of the institution.
However, there was a whole parallel world that the Festival has created in recent years and this is none other than the theatrical seminars that are increasingly accepted by our local community.

Particularly:
-The musician and comedian Giannis Zouganelis met with the students of the 1st and 4th General Lyceums of Karditsa, sharing his experience and discussing with them the multifaceted talent of the artists.
-the actor Leonidas Kakouris met with educators and theatergoers in a discussion about theater and acting.
-the set designer Antonis Chalkias and academician Pavlos Kavouras trained the world of education and culture on “The Symbols” in theater and social anthropology.
-the journalist and visual artist Thanasis Lalas he forged the portrait and transformed in theatrical terms his personal experience from the biographical interviews with the personalities of Greek and international art, with the theme: “The dialogue becomes a theatrical monologue”.
At the same time, the educator, theater, animator Sylvia Sinani organized a theatrical play with the theme “Man lives when he is loved”.
