Enjoyable, original, full of imagination and brilliance, it comes to Greece for the first time, and challenges us to reveal the most well-hidden secret of television. Just before it starts THE MASKED SINGER we present you 15 + 1 impressive facts that you should know!
1. It is based on a South Korean show. The title of the original is “King of Masked Singer” and it premiered in 2015. The one-piece suits were an idea of the American production, the original concept had special masks and loose clothes.
2. No one is allowed to know that you are participating in The Masked Singer.
3. The presenter of the show, Sakis Rouvas, does not know who is behind the Masks.
4. The contestants have at their side a specialized team that takes care of their flawless appearance in the show. As the contestants are not all professional singers, there are vocal teachers, choreographers and a group of trusted people in the production.
5. The contestants are recognizable, each in his own field. Not all singers are professional singers, which does not mean that they lack vocal skills. In the first season of the show on American FOX, the contestants had in their quiver a total of 65 Grammy nominations, 16 multi-platinum albums, 16 Emmy nominations, four stars on the Walk of Fame, and four Super Bowl titles.
6. The contestants choose their own costume and character that suits them between different proposals and options.
7. The costumes of The Masked Singer are inspired by Nature, pop culture but also the history and mythology of each country. In Greece among the Masks, among others, we will see the Minotaur, Tsolias and the Cyclops.
8. The construction of the costumes was completed within about 2 months while technically and constructively several difficulties were overcome in terms of their creation, so as to serve the performance on stage. Some are more difficult to handle than the body of the surname covered within them and some less, due to weight, construction details and available interior space to support in the most imaginative and functional way the performance and interpretation of the song on stage .
9. In the first episode, the Detectives -Nikos Moutsinas, Elisavet Konstantinidou, Athena Oikonomakou, Thodoris Marantinis- will practice at the… mark!
10. Throughout the rehearsals, rehearsals and during their travels to and from the studio, the contestants wear special masks and hooded sweatshirts with the word “Do not talk to me”. No one from their small group is allowed to speak to them, and even those who are allowed to speak only call them by the name of Mask.
11. Even the close associates of the participants who may have to be present at the set and rehearsals, are obliged to wear masks and special clothes in order not to be recognizable.
12. The audience has all signed a privacy agreement and it is not allowed to film or photograph the whole or part of the show.
13. Despite the fact that we see the revelation on television immediately after the announcement of the mask that leaves, in fact this scene is shot in a second year, without the presence of the audience.
14. When the revelation is made, the other contestants are not allowed to be in the venue. They learn his identity on the day of the episode together with the TV audience.
15. The contestants are not allowed to talk to each other nor do they know each other’s participation in the program.
16. No one is excluded from the show! Behind the mask can be hidden literally anyone, but with common features, humor, childhood and the love of viewers!
