Parintins Festival: Guaranteed Boi Honing Eunice Paiva for the fight for indigenous rights

Eunice Paiva (1929-2018) was honored by the ox guaranteed at the opening of the Parintins Festival, this Friday (27). The lawyer, whose struggle for justice for the disappearance of her husband, Rubens Paiva, is portrayed in “I’m still here”, also stood out for her performance in defense of the rights of indigenous peoples. She was represented by grandson Chico Rubens Paiva at the event.

“I get the tribute in the name of my grandmother and family for the struggle for the rights of the indigenous peoples my grandmother had in the formation of our constitution. It is a pride and huge honor for our family. We see that my grandmother’s fight is still reverberating and fuel for other fights,” he said.

The guaranteed presented the show “We are the people of the forest”, within the theme “Boi do Povo, Boi do Povão”, chosen for this season. The tribute also featured the verses of the love of Boi João Paulo Faria, with references to the film.

The event, which takes place at the Tupinambarana Island Bumbódromo, about 369 kilometers from Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, will be broadcast by Globo from 2026.
