The director, Tim Burton, visited the city of Mexico for the inauguration of his huge exhibition entitled “The Labyrinth” and devoted time to browse the sights of the Mexican capital.

Tim Burton traveled to the Xochimilco channels with a traditional boat, Trachinera, accompanied by Mexican celebrities such as actors Juan Manuel Bernal and Barbara Mori.

“I like to visit Mexico because I feel it so close to me,” he noted during his visit to the Dolores Cemetery explaining that growing up in Los Angeles came in contact with the traditions of the day of the dead and the Mexican art that was a source of inspiration.

Tim Burton visited the traditional town of Teapztlan in Morelos, known for its pre -Columbian heritage and colonial architecture.

He also watched a Lucha Libre fight match at Arena Mexico in Mexico City and posed for a photo with some of the star stars.

The exhibition “The Labyrinth” is a stunning installation with 28 themes where visitors can see over 200 of the director’s original works, including sketches, sculptures and costumes from many of his films.

The exhibition is interactive, as every visitor offers the opportunity to choose his own adventure, which means that no tour is the same as the previous one.
