Even though he was convicted of the court for Gordophobic offenses against Thais Carla, humorist Leo Lins returned to joke with the influencer and dancer during a stand-up performance published on his YouTube channel.

In the video, recorded during his show in Adamantina, Lins invites people from the audience to participate in a “unusual” talent board. Hearing that one of the volunteers knew how to double panties, the comedian quickly alluded to Thais Carla, mocking his body: “Thais Carla’s panties you sculpture a city, displays at the entrance of the city,” he fired under the audience.

The joke caused reactions on the networks and brought out the judicial history involving the two. The court ordered Lins to pay $ 5,000 in compensation for moral damages to the influencer, considering that he promoted hate speech and injured his right to image.

The action was motivated by a video published in 2019 on the Lins Channel, in which he reacted sarcastically to Thais content about the challenges of fat people on airplanes. Titled “Excess Baggage in the Seat”, the material used excerpts from the original video without authorization and included comments that were considered offensive and discriminatory.

At the time of the sentence, Thais celebrated the decision as an advance in the fight against Gordophobia: “Justice recognized Gordophobia as a violation of human rights and reinforced the importance of not silent in the face of offenses disguised as humor.”

She also pointed out that the process had a pedagogical character: “It served as an example for other victims of discrimination to seek justice. Gordophobia needs to be taken seriously.”

CONVICTION

Recently, Leo Lins was sentenced to 8 years in prison for offensive jokes made during a show called “disturbing”, recorded in 2022. The accusation claimed that the phrases said by the boy offers several minority groups and incite hate speeches.

The decision, issued by the 3rd Federal Criminal Court of São Paulo, also imposes on the comedian the payment of a fine and compensation for collective moral damages. There is still appeal.
