Florinda Meza repudiates series that suggests betrayal with Roberto Bolaños: ‘I was disrespected’

Florinda Meza, 76, did not like the series “Chespirito: Unintentionally wanting”, by HBO Max. The actress complained about how she was portrayed in the production and showed discomfort with the character Margarita Ruíz, pointed out as a lover of Roberto Gómez Bolaños (1929–2014) and responsible for destroying the actor’s wedding with Graciela Fernández (1929–2013).

In an Instagram post, Florinda vented, “You write stories thinking about how you think they should be. They didn’t even respect my right to declare anything about these issues,” he said. “They sought in the archives and dusting all the interviews of the past, which are in another context, and used them against me,” added the actress.

She continued criticizing the eight -episode series about the “Chaves” creator: “In real life, with human beings – not with soap opera characters – there are many things to be taken into account. Although I should be public, I’m not media property. My name, my image and my life are mine.

In the production, Margarita appears as a bride of Mariano Casasola, director of the program, but ends up getting involved with Bolaños during a trip from the cast to Chile. Graciela then begins to suspect the relationship between the two.

In one of the scenes of the series, María Antonieta de Las Nieves, Chiquinha, and Ramón Valdés (1924–1988), Seu Madruga, criticize Margarita’s posture behind the scenes. “She’s the new boss. Who she thinks is? If not careful, she will end up manipulating Roberto. I recognize a flatter from afar. I know what they want. And Margarita will end up screwing everyone,” says De Las Nieves. “She is a witch and will sink everyone,” agrees Valdés.

Roberto Gómez Bolaños and Graciela Fernández were married from 1956 to 1977. In the same year, he began a relationship with Florinda Meza, with whom he remained until his death.
