Presenter Ellen DeGeneres has confirmed that she moved to the United Kingdom due to US President Donald Trump.
As reported by The Guardian, the humorist said, “Everything here is better,” in the first public appearance since the change.
Asked if Trump influenced the decision, he replied yes. “We arrived here a day before the election and woke up with several messages from friends with crying emojis, and I thought, ‘He got it.’ And we said, ‘Let’s stay here’.”
DeGeneres moved along with his wife, Portia de Rossi, to a Cotswolds house in 2024 after the end of his traditional talk show.
Something that also bothered her was the concern with LGBTQ+ rights in the United States. In the United Kingdom, you can get married again.
More recently, Ellen supported artists such as Rosie O’Donnell, threatened by Donald Trump of losing her American citizenship.
On his social networks, Ellen wrote, “Good for you, Rosie,” and reproduced the message from the US president who said he would revoke the artist’s rights.
Rosie O’Donnell, currently in self -exile situations in Ireland, reacted after being threatened by the president. On social networks, Rosie called the American “apart, dangerous, and demented, who has no empathy, compassion or basic humanity.”
