On the occasion of the August full moon, the Saturday 9 August 2025the Acropolis Museum will extend its opening hours and will be open from 9am to 12th at midnight, giving visitors the opportunity to tour the showrooms and enjoy the view of the sacred rock under the moonlight of the nightclub.

The entrance to the Museum will be with a regular general entry ticket and the ticket offices and the museum’s sales will be closed at 11:30 pm.

Water Routes: Water from nature to myth and city

Starting in the morning, at 11:00 am, on the occasion of specific exhibits of the Museum on display in its permanent collections both in the building and at the “Museum of the Excavation”, visitors will discover works of art and archaeological residues related to water, its different aspects and especially its closest aspects.

They will learn about human anxieties, beliefs, doctrines and the answers and practical solutions of the ancients to achieve well -being, through the perspective of divine and human, individual and collective, within the city.

Allspice – Michael Rakowitz and Ancient Cultures

In addition to the museum’s permanent collections, visitors will be able to browse the ALLSPICE – Michael Rakowitz and Ancient Cultures exhibition presented by the Acropolis Museum and NEON, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.

Original objects of ancient cultures from the Middle East and the Southeast Mediterranean are intertwined with contemporary art works of internationally recognized Iraqi-American artist Michael Rakowitz, co-existing human relationships and stories about the past, the present and the future. The exhibition highlights the issues of cultural heritage, loss and restoration, survival and creation of culture, through conceptual, moving, obvious political and certainly timely works.

Admission to the AllSpice report is free.

On Saturday, August 9, at 18:00, in Greek, visitors will be able to attend a guided tour of the AllSpice exhibition.

Duration: 45 minutes. Up to 30 visitors per presentation.

Like every Saturday, the second floor restaurant will be open until 12 midnight.

Finally, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, the “Museum of the Excavation” will be open from 9am to 8pm.
