Priscilla Alcantara is 20 years of career and rules out return to gospel

The singer who once enchanted the country on SBT mornings celebrates two decades of artistic career the way she likes: on stage, amid the applause of the audience that filled the tour “Priscilla – Everything is music”. Now 29 years old and only the first name as a signature, Priscilla Alcantara-the host of “Good Morning & Company” and former gospel singer-claims to live one of the freest moments on her journey.

She makes a point of making it clear that she does not intend to revisit the religious segment that launched her. “Going back to something, such a lyd place, would be kind of step back,” he says in an interview with F5. “Today I put my art in a place of freedom.”

The artist, who began her career at age 8, went a long way to television for the stage. His farewell to Christian music occurred in 2021, when he officially announced that he would expand his musical horizons. “For a long time I fought to make my art free of labels and niches,” he says. “I want to keep inspiring people, but in a much freer way.”

In reflecting on the 20 years of trajectory, Priscilla also recalls the importance of TV in the construction of his public image. “Television has given me a lot of facilities, a lot of open doors. Today my music reaches several people because they saw me on TV, they have known me since I was a child.”

Despite the affection for the past, she points out that the key turn only happened when she decided to leave the television: “I have done for many years, even my dream always being the music. I still had much more to live, especially my musical career, which I had not even started.”

The transition to the universe of contemporary pop music was gradually but firmly. According to the singer, her current projects reflect this artistic maturity, including the recent tour, which had tickets sold out in all cities where she went.

The shows were designed to bring more than nostalgic celebrations, but also to mark a new phase of consolidation. “The more time it passes, the more we get difficult to dream, to have faith. The child imagines and that imagination is already her reality. I want to keep that capacity alive in me,” she says.

Priscilla also commented on the impact of having his life exposed since childhood, but says he ended up getting used to early fame. “I am very reserved because I know that everything in my life can end up being exposed in a bad way. But I think I have learned to deal well with it,” she says, who is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, presenter, actress, voice actor and writer.
