The presenter and influencer Gominho did not attend the funeral of Preta Gil, held on the morning of Friday (25) at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro. At the same time, he participated live in Globo’s Mais Você program, where he had breakfast with Ana Maria Braga and talked about the friendship with the singer, who followed during cancer treatment.
The absence of Gominho generated comments on social networks. In response, he explained that his choice was based on the feeling that he had already said goodbye to the singer. “On friend’s day, when Ju de Paulla, Preta’s friend) called me, she was no longer talking. I had a crisis of crying and I understood,” he recalled.

Gominho shared in the memories of the last two years next to the singer and recalled the moment when he decided to drop the work in Salvador to accompany her during chemotherapy.

According to him, the decision not to go to the wake was also related to emotional wear. “It’s been two weeks since mourning began. I knew I couldn’t see her anymore. And the tiredness I was like was that: the tiredness of her suffering, really.”
Gominho also denied rumors of disagreements with family members of the singer and that the motivation of leaving the apartment where he lived with the singer came from having to overcome the phase that lived in the last three years.
In the program, the presenter also remembered the trajectory of Preta as a defender of the street carnival and symbol of joy. “People come to me very sad, and I stop to remember these 15 years of my life. We were a family. Her legacy is of light and strength,” he said.
Preta Gil’s farewell takes place this Friday with the presence of family, friends and fans in Rio. Gominho preferred to be physically absent, but said he was present in what, for him, more matters: “Celebrating the astral she has left.”
