During the presentation of The Lifetimes Tour tour in Detroit, United States, on Sunday (3), Katy Perry, 40, had to interrupt the show after a fan passed out on stage. McKenna, a young woman guest to sing “The One That Got Away”, went wrong moments before the song began.
Katy knelt next to the fan and remained holding the girls’ hands until the arrival of the medical team. Visibly moved, the singer led a prayer asking for McKenna’s recovery.
The episode came when in the middle of the show Katy calls four fans to take the stage. McKenna, wearing a bright blue skirt, was thrilled with the moment and ended up passing out. “Dear God, we pray for McKenna. May she come back with everything, even better and brighter. Amen,” said the artist during the prayer.
After the service, the singer resumed the show and made a point of comforting the audience: “McKenna is okay, see?”. She also dedicated the performance of the hit to the young woman and ended the song shouting her name, pulling enthusiastic applause from the crowd of 13,000 people.
Upon returning to the stage, Katy commented on the situation: “It’s a lot. Sometimes we are very brave and go up here, but it may be too much to endure. I understand.”
