Carnival 2026: Juliana Paes will be Viradouro drum queen

Juliana Paes, 46, will be back on the avenue as a drum queen of Unidos do Viradouro at the 2026 carnival. The information was confirmed by the samba school to F5. The official coronation is scheduled for August 30, at a party promoted by the Niterói association, where the artist was born.

Juliana’s return to the post happens almost two decades after her first spell at Viradouro. She held the same position between 2004 and 2008, when she paraded prominently at the head of the rhythms. At the time, he had to move away from the revelry due to professional and personal commitments: newlywed with Carlos Eduardo Baptista, she lived her first protagonist in the prime time of Globo, in the soap opera “Caminho das Indias”.

Since then, it has maintained the bond with the school. In 2015, he even participated in the front committee at that year’s parade, in a tribute to his own trajectory at Viradouro. Now he returns as Queen, succeeding Erika Januza, who had held the post since 2022. “Viradouro asked me for the position,” Erika said at the time, announcing her departure, making it clear that the decision came from the school board.

Despite his identification with Viradouro, Juliana has also shone another group of the special group. Between 2018 and 2019, she paraded as a battery queen of Grande Rio, where she was also widely acclaimed by the public.
