The Ministry of Culture is also organizing events this year for the August Full Moon, under the coordination of the Directorate -General for Antiquities and Cultural Heritage, offering free admission to selected archaeological sites, museums, monuments, historical sites and museums.
A total of 114 archaeological sites, historical sites, museums and monuments across the country will welcome the public under the moonlight.
Events will take place in 71 archaeological places and museums, while about 44 they will remain open to the public with free admission.

Full Moon August at the Acropolis Museum

Periodic Exhibition “Allspice – Michael Rakowitz and Ancient Cultures”
In addition to the museum’s permanent collections, visitors will be able to browse the ALLSPICE – Michael Rakowitz and Ancient Cultures exhibition presented by the Acropolis Museum and NEON, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. Original objects of ancient cultures from the Middle East and the Southeast Mediterranean are intertwined with contemporary art works of internationally recognized Iraqi-American artist Michael Rakowitz, co-existing human relationships and stories about the past, the present and the future.
The exhibition highlights the issues of cultural heritage, loss and restoration, survival and creation of culture, through conceptual, moving, obvious political and certainly timely works.
