Taylor Swift’s presence turned New Heights sports podcast, led by brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, into a YouTube audience phenomenon. The special episode, broadcast live last Thursday (14), recorded 1.3 million viewers watching simultaneously-the largest number already reached by a podcast on the platform.
The deed broke the previous record, which was 800,000 simultaneous spectators, obtained by US President Donald Trump in his participation in The Joe Rogan Experience. In addition to breaking the brand, the program became a dominant subject on social networks, with fans celebrating the relaxed interaction between the singer and the two former NFL players.
In just 24 hours, the interview of about two hours accumulated more than 14 million views on Youtube. In Spotify, the performance was equally significant: the platform recorded a 3,000% increase in the number of new listeners and 2,500% in reproductions, with a peak audience 1,100% above the average of the last five editions.
The impact was such that it even dropped the transmission for a few minutes. According to the program team, the technical problem was a direct consequence of the volume of accesses. “We broke the internet,” celebrated the official profile of New Heights. In a celebration mood, Travis Kelce published a video dancing after air return, while Jason Kelce joked that the number of simultaneous viewers was “the embodiment of numerology”, alluding to the famous Swift bond with number 13.
Created in 2022, New Heights is one of the US’s most popular sports podcasts, focusing on NFL behind-the-scenes and humorous conversations among the brothers.
