Mila Kunis recalls extreme diet for the movie ‘Black Swan’, when she weighed 43 kg

by

Fifteen years after the release of ‘Black Swan’, Mila Kunis featured details of the intense, almost cruel, preparation to play the ambitious and seductive dancer Lily in the movie. The film earned Natalie Portman the best actress Oscar in 2011.

“My preparation was to dance a lot and eat little, which I know I shouldn’t talk about, but it’s the truth,” he said. The actress told American Vogue that she even fed only on broth while rehearsing up to 12 hours a day. She lost nine pounds, and reported other physical impacts.

“We filmed those dance scenes for hours, and I had bruises on the ribs for being overwhelmed repeatedly.” She said she even shifted her shoulder at the beginning of filming – director Darren Aronofsky referred her to an acupuncturist, which helped in her recovery.

In an interview prior to “Harper’s Bazaar”, Mila said her body was never the same after the paper. “When I reached 43 pounds, I had muscles, like a small brick house, but skin and bone. Then I recovered, [o peso]”.

“Black Swan” is a psychological thriller about the dispute of two dancers (Mila and Portman) for protagonism in a New York dance company, whose artistic director is the demanding – being the sadistic – artistic director interpreted by Vincent Cassel.
