An international initiative is ongoing, as dozens of boats are preparing to sail from Spanish and Tunisian ports to Gaza, attempting to break the long -term exclusion imposed by Israel. Among the loudest appearances are an Oscar -winning actress, Susan Saranton. The young Swedish activist will also be on the side of the famous actress, Greta Toenberga symbol of the struggle against the climate crisis.

Activists are planning to sail from Spain on August 31 with several dozen boats. On September 4, they will meet another group of ships that will start from Tunisia. According to the organizers, the mission will include participants from 44 different countries, in what they describe as the “greatest demonstration of solidarity” since Israel imposed a maritime exclusion in Gaza in 2007.

The Israeli authorities have not yet officially commented on the mobilization, but similar missions in the past have encountered vigorous resistance and have often been prevented from reaching the Palestinian coast. The organizers, for their part, point out that their action is peaceful and humanitarian, with the aim of defending human rights.
