In front of her seaside town Vonitsain the Ambracian Gulf, there is a small lush islet that has stolen the heart of residents and visitors: Hoodlum. It is a serene, easily accessible destination that combines natural beauty, tradition and breathtaking view.

Koukoumitsa is connected to land via a stone footbridge about 300 meters long. So, The visitor can arrive on footenjoying a romantic ride on the sea. The bridge is a reference point for Vonitsa, especially in the afternoons when the sun sets in Ambracikos.

In the center of the island dominates the small and graphic Saint Nectaribuilt in an environment full of pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation. The chapel is a favorite spot for pilgrims but also for those looking for a little tranquility by the sea.

Koukoumitsa is ideal for walking, picnic and relaxation. Green is combined with the blue of the sea, creating a picture that looks like postcard. During the summer months, it often hosts cultural events, concerts and celebrations of the local community.

From the islet, the view to Vonitsa, with its Venetian castle rising above the city, is unique. The combination of history, nature and sea makes Koukoumitsa one of my favorite places for ride and photography.

Koukoumitsa is not just a small islet, it is the ornament of Vonitsa, a place that unites nature with tradition and offers moments of relaxation to every visitor.
