Vassilis Kikilias in Smyrna for the 4th Session of the Joint Tourism Committee and the 9th Greek-Turkish Forum for Tourism | Skai.gr

The Minister of Tourism Vassilis Kikilias is going to Smyrna, head of the Greek delegation to the 4th Session of the Joint Tourism Committee and to the 9th Greek-Turkish Forum on Tourism, which will be held from today until November 18, 2021. It is noted that the last Session of the Joint Committee Tourism and the Forum took place in Athens in October 2011.

On Wednesday, November 17, Mr. Kikilias will have a private meeting with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, in which issues of bilateral interest in the tourism sector are expected to be discussed.

The agenda of the Joint Tourism Committee includes, inter alia, issues related to the current situation regarding Covid-19 and the exchange of experience on health protocols in the tourism sector, the exchange of know-how and practical knowledge in areas of common interest, as well as and cooperation in the field of maritime tourism and cruise tourism.

The Greek delegation includes the Ambassador of Greece to Turkey Michalis Diamesis, the Secretary General of Tourism Policy and Development Vicky Loizou, the Secretary General of Primary Health Care of the Ministry of Health Marios Themistokleous of Greece, the Consul General Greece George Filiopoulos, the President of the Hotel Chamber of Greece (XEE) Alexandros Vasilikos, the President of the Panhellenic Hoteliers Federation (POX) Grigoris Tassios, the President of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourists and Travelers (Lysridis Vitsilaki, head of a group of Greek universities, officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Shipping and Island Policy, as well as representatives of Greek companies active in Tourism.
