The distinguished painter, Vassilis Vagiannisreturns with solo exhibition in Athens and specifically to War Museum, on 17-18 and 19 October 2025 (10: 00-22: 00). It was October 1952. High, a traditional cobblestone house, overgrown hills with olive groves, the mesagros in the serene waters of the Gulf of Gera in Mytilene constituted the first scene of his childhood.

At an early age, when his family settled in Athens, his relationship with painting began. His original works were done on cardboard, shells and wooden surfaces. When he finished high school, he went to Paris, where he studied Physics, Chemistry and Ecology, while studying at the School of Fine Arts.

For him, painting is not just an art, but a way of being. Each table is a confession. Perhaps this is why his works cause such a strong emotional reaction. Colors that “collide”, softens shadows, people looking inward. It is a deep internal art, free of impressions.

The distinguished painter carried out his first solo exhibition in Paris in 1974. Then there were about 50 solo exhibitions in US cities (New York, Washington, Detroit), Canada (Toronto), Germany (Düsseldorf) Paphos), in Paris, London and in large cities in Greece. He has also participated in group exhibitions. He has also received applause and awards. He signed performances and artistic events in France and in Municipalities of Attica. He has been biographer by three encyclopedias of art, including “Greek painters” of MELISSA Publications. In 2003 he was accepted by the Ministry of Culture as a member of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts.
