The LVMH group appointed Maria Grazia Chiuri new creative manager of FENDI.
The Italian designer succeeds Silvia Venturini Fendi, who resigned last month.
Maria Gracia Kouri, who earlier resigned from the post of artistic director of female clothing at Christian Dior, worked for FENDI most of the 1990s and played a role in the development of the company’s famous baguette bag. She will present her first collection for Autumn/Winter 2026 in February in Milan.
“Maria Grazia Chiuri is one of the greatest creative talents in fashion today and I am excited to have chosen to return to Fendi to continue expressing her creativity within the LVMH group,” said LVMH President Bernard Arno.
Kuri joined Dior in 2016 by Valentino and transformed his image and supply of products. While working in the French fashion house, he led the creation of new successful accessories. France awarded Kuri the honor of the Legion of Honor, the highest honor of the country in 2019.
The Italian designer began her career at Fendi House in 1989 in the bag design department and moved to Valentino in 1999 as an accessory designer, before being promoted to a creative manager with Pierpaolo Piccioli in 2008.
She joined Dior in 2016, as the first female designer since the founding of the house in 1947 and succeeded Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano and Raf Simons.
