Chicago Sky forward, Angel Reese, made history as she became the first professional athlete to walk the iconic catwalk Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York, making her debut as the brand’s “Angel.”
Reese expressed her excitement shortly before the fashion show, stating: “It was meant to be for me. I am so happy to be in this space with so many amazing models and women. The team that organized everything was amazing. I’m so excited.”
“I walk, I sleep, I play basketball. And I play basketball, I sleep, I walk”said Reese, who shared the runway with Bella and Gigi Hadid, Barbara Palvin, Joan Smalls, Adriana Lima, Alex Consani, Alessandra Ambrosio, Grace Elizabeth, Candice Swanepoel and pregnant Jasmine Tookes.

Reese’s debut included two appearances, according to the AP. She initially walked in a pink floral lingerie set while in her second appearance she donned the signature white angel wings – a symbol of the show for decades. Under the sounds of the song “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)”Reese proved that the catwalk is a new stage that perfectly suits her confidence and charisma. “One of her biggest dreams was to walk in this show”said celebrity stylist Law Roach, co-host on the pink carpet and a close friend of the athlete.
Highlighting the speed with which Rees achieved her goal, Roach added: “For that to happen in a year or less… makes me the proudest because I have the deepest connection with her than any of the other girls.”
