French Montana is facing new legal trouble as two Swiss businessmen filed a $1 million lawsuit against the rapper accusing him of fraudulent misrepresentation and theft of a luxury watch.

The plaintiffs, Justo Obiang and Samir Gatto, claim Montana borrowed their expensive watch for Paris Fashion Week but never returned it.

According to the lawsuit, the drama began in 2024 when the rapper, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, met the two men in Egypt. The rapper asked to borrow the valuable watch for 30 days, offering his own as collateral, which he claimed was also worth $1 million.

However, the men claim that Montana never returned their own watch and that the one he provided as a guarantee turned out to be a fake, according to TMZ.

The plaintiffs are seeking at least $1 million in damages, accusing the rapper of “unjust enrichment” and “misappropriation.” Montana attorney Steve Haddad vehemently denies the allegations and said his client plans to file a countersuit. Haddad claims the rapper accepted the Swiss men’s watch as payment for promotional appearances in Egypt, not as a temporary loan.

The Moroccan-born American rapper built an empire with his record label Cocaine City and became known for his collaborations with other artists and a number of chart hits, including “Unforgettable” from his 2017 platinum sophomore release, Jungle Rules.
