Three generations of actors met on the hall stage “Pavlos Zannas” at the Olympian, in an evening dedicated to its protagonists “old, good, Greek cinema”. The younger ones honored the legends who inspired them, awarding them awards and recognizing their timeless contribution to art.
Eight of the greats of Greek cinema attended this moving event: George Konstantinou, Dimitris Kallivokas, Anna Fonsou, Emilia Ypsilanti, Vassilis Kailas, Chloe Liaskou, Betty Livanou and Sotiris Tzevelekos.
The awards were presented by ‘Akis Sakellariou (chairman of the Board of Directors of the Festival), Ierocles Michaelidis (coordinator of the evening), Vassilis Charalambopoulos, Christina Heila Fameli, Katia Goulioni and Spyros Papadopouloswho spoke with deep emotion about the artists who were their idols and led them to the acting profession.
  
  
The atmosphere was overflowing with love, gratitude and catchphrases. THE Stathis Kanvasinos from Finos Film – who co-organized the event, to describe the evening he used his legendary quote Dino Iliopoulos “We are a nice atmosphere”while then, borrowing his well-known phrase Andreas Papandreou noted that “today we have a date with history.”
The audience that filled the hall, welcomed the ‘Akis Sakellariou, revealing that he discussed his idea of holding the event at his home Spyros Papadopoulosin a group of people who love old Greek cinema and know all Greek movies almost by heart. “These films are acting lessons for us. We see them and see them again, because their scenes are masterpieces. We study them, but often we cannot reach them”added o Ierocles Michaelidis.
Before the award ceremony, a taped tribute was shown with unforgettable film moments of the eight, as well as several other iconic actors of the 1960s, who shared with the audience memories and stories about their exciting career, but also about the unseen – pleasant and unpleasant – sides of their artistic lives. In the end, they all gave their advice to young people who are involved or want to be involved in cinema.

OR Chloe Liaskou reminded that “we may have grown up, but inside we are always children”while o Dimitris Kalivokas he talked about his first films, in which he participated secretly, with the theater remaining his great love.
OR Betty Livanou dedicated her award “to the man who helped make it what it is today, George Panousopoulos”.
  
THE Sotiris Tzevelekosmoved, thanked him Vasilis Charalambopoulos who presented him with the award, saying it was an honor to receive it from this talented actor. “The great always move forward”he emphasized.
With the air of a star, theAnna Fonsou she went on stage saying with humor that she is happy to be recognized on the street and called “how beautiful you are, Mrs. Caluta”making the audience laugh.
  
OR Emilia Ypsilantifor her part, characterized the award “critical”noting that it comes to “heal a wound” which opened in the late 70s when the film world found itself divided and “denied half of himself”.
THE Vassilis Kailasthe most recognizable child of Greek cinema, wished “in the next awards, there should be people with flesh and bones who honored and honor Greek cinema and not constructions of artificial intelligence”.
Finally, O George Konstantinou talk about her “standardization” of the actors, citing as examples the Thanasis Vengo and him Kostas Hatzichristoswhich were identified with specific roles. He himself, although the Kostas Voutsas had advised him to settle into one type of character, he chose to play different roles, a choice that initially cost him professionally, but years later vindicated him, as his films remain beloved and screened non-stop.
