Women acquired rights after the middle of the 20th century, although from antiquity some debates and claims for the improvement of their position in society are still recognized from time to time. The steps that have been taken historically in its issue gender discrimination in the family, work, political and social field and the correlations between yesterday and today will be examined by historians of Law in an international conference on “Women and Law from Antiquity to Modernity”, organized on Friday, May 6, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki 2022, the Hellenic Society of History of Law and the Law School of AUTh.

The day will close with a round table on modern Greece, interventions on various legal issues concerning women in modern times and the evolution of their rights.
