Vogue Ball: Cintia Dicker says Scooby’s blackouts run in the family and don’t worry

by

Even with the presence of some of the most mediatic Brazilian personalities and who have the largest number of followers in the country (Juliette alone has almost 35 million), the carioca surfer and ex-BBB star Pedro Scooby, 33, was one of the few guests who needed a extra attention from the security guards and the team that organized the Vogue Ball, this Friday (29), at Copacabana Palace, in Rio.

At the beginning of the night — before the shows and when everything was still a big social in the hotel’s halls — it was just him. Insane harassment. Scooby could barely walk, there were so many photo requests, fan sycophancy and sponsorship commitments.

He went from one place to another fulfilling a pre-established schedule with the contractors, paying attention to admirers and talking to journalists in the intervals between one “job” and another. “Now we have to do the Stories of Havaianas”, announced the girl who accompanied him. The thesis that he would be there, all stylish and full of himself, in flip-flops, of his own free will, fell apart.

It was marketing—nothing discreditable, just a surprise for those who were betting on their carioca “strength” to go to an event in a sophisticated location wearing rubber strap sandals. It’s part. Scooby rides the wave of success and says that he combined the useful with the profitable: he used the strength of his post-BBB image to earn a fee by appearing at a popular event wearing pieces that were already part of his wardrobe. “No big deal. I always wear flip-flops, I went to Sapucaí like that”, he says.

Harassment has become so intense that surfing, his profession and sport in which he excels in the big waves category, has become difficult to practice. “I couldn’t get into the water at Praia da Barra”, he says. “There were a lot of people around… I was at a kiosk in Barra (da Tijuca) and the bike path stopped.”

Companion to the surfer, model Cintia Dicker follows the whole turnaround in her career and says she is impressed. Scooby, however, takes it seriously. “He’s easygoing,” she assures her. Cintia, by the way, brings more details about an issue that caught attention at BBB: the moments when the surfer seemed to be “out of breath”, traveling and totally absorbed in his thoughts.

“This is normal for him, it happens often,” he says. “It’s like a meditation.” According to Cintia, these “disconnections” are hereditary — and zero cause for concern. “It runs in the family, her mother and brother also have it, it’s ok”, she says, already heading off with her boyfriend for yet another photo shoot for the sponsors.
