The jury reached a verdict in the defamation suit brought by makeup artist Angela White, better known as Blac Chyna, 33, against the Kardashian-Jenner family, giving victory to the socialites. The information is from the Variety website.
The family walked out of the lawsuit with no damages awarded to Chyna. The jury found that none of the sisters defamed Chyna, or interfered with her E! channel contract. The process began in 2017, after the separation of Chyna and Rob Kardashian.
The makeup artist claimed that the Kardashian family had ruined her TV career by saying she had viciously attacked Rob. But at the trial, both the family and E! stated that the series had never been approved for a second season.
Also, just before the decision on the show was announced, Rob even leaked intimate photos of Chyna on social media. She has since accused the incident as “revenge porn”, and noted that Rob’s family’s influence on E! led to the show’s abrupt end.
The trial lasted 10 days and the jury found that “often the Kardashians acted in bad faith on the issues raised in the case”. Text messages and emails were shown as evidence where the Kardashians spoke negatively about Chyna and told E! to stop “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” if Chyna was involved.
A message from Khloé Kardashian read: “We are even considering not moving forward with our show if theirs continues, we feel this is detrimental to our family.” However, when Kris Jenner testified, she said she didn’t have the power to influence the channel on any cancellations.
