After becoming runner-up at Big Brother Brasil 21 and becoming nationally known, digital influencer and presenter Camilla de Lucas, 27, has been reaping the fruits of her fame.
In addition to continuing to make videos on social media, where she mobilizes more than 11 million followers on Instagram alone, she signed a contract with Globo and did well as a reporter for The Masked Singer Brasil, interviewing the masked people behind the scenes of the program. The second season of the reality show is already in production and premieres in January 2022.
If it depends on the size of her dreams, Camilla’s career on television has everything to be great. “I identified a lot with The Masked and learned a lot from this work. I’ve always had this side of me focused on communication touched upon and I’ve already imagined myself as a presenter a few times”, she says.
“For this reason, I do intend to continue with my TV career. About the projects for next year, I can only say that we will have many good news. I will continue to produce my content for the internet and explore new territories.”
Although she likes the stage and the role of presenter, it is the desire to become an actress that makes the influencer’s eyes shine. And it is with this goal in mind, to get a chance in dramaturgy, that she has intensified her studies.
“The year 2021 gave me a gift in several ways, but I still think about doing many things. A role in dramaturgy… Who knows in the next year?”, she says, without detailing if there is anything more concrete for 2022.
Camilla’s participation in BBB 21 caused, in fact, a turnaround in the influencer’s life. In addition to the contract with Globo, she accumulates so many jobs in advertising that she says that, even though she didn’t take the R$1.5 million prize, she has already managed to accumulate that money since leaving confinement.
According to her, nothing makes her more fulfilled than being seen as a reference for other women.
“I am aware of the importance of my figure for other black people, precisely because I occupy positions that I know few people do for lack of opportunity. And that’s what I want to continue doing, working so that other black women can also show how incredible they are. “
And he goes on: “I know that I carry representation for black women. But I realize that this possibility comes thanks to black people who started the struggle for representation back there.”
The awareness that representation matters is not new. At Big Brother Brasil, for example, she demonstrated on several occasions that she is engaged in the anti-racist fight.
BBB opened doors and gave the influencer the visibility she needed to make her voice reach more people. And she continues to reap the rewards: Camilla debuts this Saturday (20) on the catwalks, in a fashion show at São Paulo Fashion Week. “I still can’t believe I’m going to make my first fashion show. I dreamed so much about this moment!”, she wrote on social media.
‘I ONLY SPEAK WHAT I BELIEVE’
Large media exposure and strong opinions can sometimes result in hateful messages on the internet. But that’s no longer a problem for Camilla de Lucas, who says she has learned to filter what she reads.
“I’m a very transparent person with my followers. I only speak what I believe. So I’m not usually discouraged by ‘haters’. I only try to absorb what helps me.”
And if the professional life is great, the personal one also continues to evolve. The digital influencer and ex-BBB was proposed by musician Mateus Ricardo, with whom she has been dating for about two years, in October this year. The surprise came during the get-together she made with her family to celebrate her 27th birthday, completed on the 13th of that month. The wedding does not have a date yet, but expectations are very high.
“From now on, we are going to start thinking about the details of the ceremony and the party. What Mateus and I know is that we really want to celebrate this moment, which is very important for us,” he says.
About the future and any plans to have children, she asks for calm. “We just got engaged! I want to take advantage of professional opportunities and stabilize my life and that of my family first.”
