Elections 2022: After clip with Pabllo Vittar, PT now wants Anitta

by

Now 28 years old, Pabllo Vittar was not yet born when the jingle “Sem Medo de Ser Feliz”, composed by Hilton Acioly, from Bahia, was recorded in a clip starring dozens of Brazilian artists and intellectuals in the midst of the 1989 presidential race.

“Lula Lá / Shine a Star”, shouted, at the top of their lungs, names like Gal Costa, Chico Buarque, Gilberto Gil, Lidia Brondi and Marieta Severo, campaigning for candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, of the PT, in the dispute with Fernando Collor from Mello.

The star, at that time, did not shine: Lula lost the elections, but the jingle did not die there. On the contrary. Considered a “case” among the songs of recent national political history, “Lula Lá” was officially resurrected this Saturday (7).

Presented at the launch of PT’s pre-candidacy for the presidency with Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) as his deputy, the jingle was announced by sociologist Rosângela da Silva, Janja, as a “wedding gift” to the groom – she and Lula get married on the next 18th.

The clip is an adaptation made by Leonardo Leone, with Janja in charge of every detail and each guest participant – a mix of generations that includes Martinho da Vila, Otto, Zélia Duncan, Bela Gil, Maria Rita, Dadi Carvalho, Teresa Cristina and talents from the new Brazilian music scene, such as Flor Gil, Pabllo Vittar, Daniel Ganjaman, Duda Beat and Russo Passapusso.

It went viral. “In our opinion, the video fulfilled this function of reaching young people and touching those who are outside the daily political militancy”, analyzes Marcio Tavares, PT’s Secretary of Culture. Following this reasoning, it is not difficult to understand the emphasis given to Pabllo Vittar.

Artist with the largest number of followers among those participating in the clip (15 million followers on Twitter and Instagram), Pabllo is considered internally an example of loyalty to Lula, as she was one of the first to publicly expose herself in defense of the candidate’s candidacy. PT, which he continues to do in shows, on the networks and in interviews.

The party is now aiming for Anitta’s support, which does not seem to be an impossible task. A staunch enemy of Jair Bolsonaro, whom she blocked from her networks before ordering him to “pick up what to do”, the singer could be the tip of the balance among the younger electorate. After all, what to expect from one of those responsible for a campaign that led more than two million Brazilians between the ages of 16 and 18 to vote for the first time?

Three out of four of them took the voter’s title as of March, when Anitta gave more traction in her networks to the campaign for the participation of this public in the October elections (her public, by the way), and got the adhesion of Hollywood stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo.

The feat was commemorated by Minister Luiz Edson Facchin, president of the TSE. “Called to participate in the elections, Brazilian youth gave an impressive response,” he said.
