The cloudy day with temperatures between 19º and 27º in Rio de Janeiro this Thursday (12) led Zeca Pagodinho, 63, to anticipate the wardrobe for winter 2022, which only starts on June 21: hat, bathrobe, socks and slipper.
“Another winter, another look, but the hominy and elegance remain the same”, said the sambista on social media. Under the title “trend alert”, he recorded a video in his apartment, in front of the beach, in Barra da Tijuca, with a bowl of hominy in his hand.
Pagodinho’s “looks” to face the winter have been successful since 2020, when he also appeared wearing a hat, bathrobe and socks with flip-flops. “Is it or isn’t it pure fashion style?” he asked.
On this Thursday, even the City Hall of Rio interacted with the humorous post of the singer-songwriter. “The guy who knows things,” wrote the city hall’s Instagram profile. “The sky suddenly clouded over and the wind stirred the waves of the sea…”, he added, citing the song “Quando a Gira Girou”, known in Zeca’s interpretation.
Celebrities commented on the style of the costumes and the hominy of the sambista. “Wait for me next week”, said businesswoman Flora Gil. “Always drowning,” commented singer-songwriter Paulo Miklos. “Pure elegance”, said singer Evandro Mesquita.
Zeca was confirmed as the theme of Grande Rio’s plot for 2023. Part of his “wants” list is the distribution of beer to the audience and a giant allegory of São Jorge.
Grande Rio reported that the idea of the tribute to Zeca came from the carnival artists Gabriel Haddad and Leonardo Bora and that the school will honor the musical universe of an artist whose work is “a look at the suburbs, the ‘old Baixada’, the street and popular religiosity”.
