Makeup artist Juliette Freire, 32, has been embroiled in controversy after comedian Samantha Schmütz, 43, questioned whether the singer is an artist. With that, former participants of several editions of Big Brother Brasil (Globo) demonstrated on social networks and defended the champion of BBB 21.
Eliezer, Vyni, Slovenia and Brunna Gonçalves, participants in the latest edition of the reality show defended Juliette on their Twitter profiles. “Why are there people who belittle someone so much just for being ex-BBB?”, asked Eli. “Artist yes, and with A for ‘A Bonita'”, published Eslô, recalling a nickname that Juliette received during her participation in the program.
“Ex-BBB is also people. Ex-BBB also has talent”, said Brunna. Other participants in the edition that consecrated Juliette champion also defended the former BBB. Lumena, João Luiz and Pocah made it clear that they consider the singer an artist.
“Being a former BBB cannot be a parameter to belittle the previous and subsequent journey of the program participants”, said psychologist Lumena. “Come and have a coffee with me, but only if you are an artist”, said Professor João Luiz. “A true artist,” Pocah wrote in response to a tweet from Juliette.
Rafa Kalimann, from BBB 20, also showed support for the singer. “I came here to praise your music, your history and the way you express yourself. As a result, you touch the hearts of so many people by being this artist who is always looking to be her best version”, she wrote on her Twitter.
Ana Paula Renault, from BBB 16, shared a reflection saying that “prejudice is the illiteracy of the soul”. André Martinelli, from BBB 13 and ex-No Limite, also left his opinion on the controversy. “I think Juliette is an artist, yes, she is simply in a career transition and, by the way, sings very well”, he began in a sequence of tweets, saying that he is happy to see other ex-BBBs like Gil, Sabrina Sato and Grazi Massafera “breaking that barrier and being successful”.
