Ingrid Guimarães, Marina Ruy Barbosa, João Vicente de Castro, Anitta. These are some of the celebrities who came to the defense of the singer and former BBB Juliette, 32, after a comment by comedian Samantha Schmütz, 43, about whether or not she was considered an artist.
“I think it’s great that she takes a stand… But is she an artist?”, Schmütz shot on social media in a post that showed the singer in “Altas Horas” saying that “as an artist” she felt obliged to participate “in everything that reflected in society”.
The repercussion was not good. Schmütz deleted the post, but it was no use, the comments came quickly and all in Juliette’s defense. Actress Ingrid Guimarães, 49, reflected on her Instagram, saying that “being an artist is, above all, being human!”.
“We are also citizens and we have voices. Being an artist goes far beyond being famous. We take serious discussions (even if through humor) we create reflections through a text, an expression, a dance, music, images, screens. who has no voice,” he added.
Juliana Paes, who has also had a public disagreement with Schmütz, took a stand in the comments of Juliette’s new clip. “I had this song in my head all day… I love it”, she said, followed by Marina Ruy Barbosa: “My artist. Artist who enchanted all of Brazil! You are light and no one can erase that”.
Anitta also positioned herself in Instagram Stories. “I looked and screamed artist,” she said in an image of the ex-BBB’s new clip. Actor João Vicente de Castro stated that “liking is optional. Respecting is mandatory” in a photo of Juliette.
A similar message shared by actress Alice Wegmann: “Just because someone doesn’t like someone’s art doesn’t make them not an artist. Juliette is an artist, yes. She may have discovered herself an artist recently, but she is.”
Singer Kátia Aveiro, sister of player Cristiano Ronaldo, also said: “Being an artist is a construction, it’s a process and everyone starts somewhere… it doesn’t matter the time, what matters is how you do it and what you conquer .”
In the midst of the controversy, Juliette herself replied: “Art embraces, enchants, excites and transcends any label. Being an artist is something so beautiful and bigger than all that… it’s touching the other with the best in you, it’s donation , it’s love, it’s true,” said Juliette. “So yes, I am an artist and a learner of a lot.”
