The escalation of cases and hospitalizations by Covid-19 reached the network of private hospitals in the city of São Paulo, which already sees its waiting rooms full. Considering the hospitalization curve of the last two days, the HCor estimates that the number of hospitalized patients will triple in the next week.
In ten days, the institution saw the number of 54 daily consultations of patients with flu syndrome jump to 128. Until this Friday (3), 66% of those tested receive confirmation of Covid-19, and 7% of them end up being hospitalized.
Fearing the overload of the care system, the HCor once again recommended that the search for care in the emergency room only occur when there is difficulty breathing or worsening of the condition after the fourth day of symptoms.
At the Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz, the percentage of patients who received the diagnosis of infection with the virus was, only last Wednesday (1st), 92% higher than all the confirmations recorded in May.
On the same date, the rate of patients with flu-like symptoms who sought emergency care at the institution was 261% higher than that observed on the first day of the previous month.
The number of hospital admissions on June 1 was 620% higher than a month ago on May 1.
This Friday, Hospital Sírio-Libanês has 45 patients hospitalized because of the coronavirus or with suspected infection – eight of them in ICU. Three days ago, there were 30 hospitalized, and ten days ago, only 22.
