The microbiology professor Anna Pappas of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was among the five samples where the confirmed case of smallpox was found.

From the Aristotle University, which has already confirmed the first smallpox case of monkeys Microbiology professor Anna Pappas states that today “another case is being examined and one in Athens”.

The professor said that the confirmed case was found among five samples, while “cases of fever and skin lesions are examined as suspects, from which chickenpox was detected”.

“Some incidents may have occurred without being immediately perceived. “Tracing must be done to control the spread,” Papa said, adding that in the case of monkey pox, patients have obvious signs as opposed to asymptomatic coronavirus cases.

His teacher AUTH “It is worrying that it is an African virus and we have to look for why, but transmission is more difficult,” he said.

Asked by Sofia Patramani about “how dangerous it is if someone sits next to a patient on a plane”, Ms. Pappas answered that “there is a danger only if there is a hack that comes in contact with an infected surface”. “It is not very easy to be transmitted even if someone is sitting next to us.”

Attempting to explain the spread of this “forgotten” disease, he argued that it may be due to climate change and globalization.
