Brazil completed, this Wednesday (27), a month with moving averages of deaths above 200 deaths per day.
In the last 30 days, the lowest average deaths recorded was 209, on June 28. This Wednesday, the average was 227, a situation of stability, that is, with no variations greater than 15% in relation to the data of two weeks ago.
The moving average of cases now stands at 36,419, down 33% from two weeks ago.
This Wednesday, Brazil recorded 308 deaths from Covid and 46,461 cases of the disease. As a result, the country has lost 677,871 lives and 33,707,069 people infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.
In all, 179,771,967 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s Covid vaccine, there are already 168,889,517 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.
Thus, the country already has 83.68% of the population with the 1st dose and 78.62% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.
So far, 100,445,861 people have taken the third dose and 21,595,544 the fourth.
The consortium also gathers the record of vaccine doses administered to children. The population aged 5 to 11 years partially immunized (with only the first dose of vaccine received) is 64.82%, totaling 13,289,115. In the same age group, 41.17% (8,440,902) received the second dose or the single dose (the number of children immunized with both doses fell compared to Tuesday’s data).
Even those who received both doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine should maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distancing, say experts.
The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed newsletters about the disease and took information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of the totals of cases and deaths. In addition, the government has released conflicting data.
