The biggest gift of last Christmas was the gift of science to humanity, the coronavirus vaccine. Thanks to this we managed to regain our freedom, to meet again and to embrace our own people, laying the foundations for the creation of a wall of immunity. We all became part of the national effort to protect public health and by advocating reason over fear we won back our lives.
The numbers speak for themselves: about 90% of intubated people and people who lose their battle with life every day because of the coronavirus are unvaccinated.
The only way to strengthen our defense against Covid-19 is to get vaccinated. The first step was taken and more than 7,000,000 of our fellow citizens are actively participating in the campaign against the coronavirus.
The opening of the appointment platform for the booster dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 in three months, at the suggestion of experts, gives us the opportunity to strengthen the wall of immunity, as it protects us 11 times from the confirmed infection and by approximately 20 times from serious infection or even death.
All citizens over the age of 18 now have the opportunity to proceed with a booster dose, provided that at least 3 months have passed since the last dose was administered.
For people who have completed their vaccination with Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccines, the booster dose will be with the Pfizer vaccine or half dose of Moderna, after 3 months.
For people who have completed their Johnson & Johnson vaccination, the booster dose will be with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Pfizer or the half-dose Moderna vaccine, after 2 months.
For people who have taken the first dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and the second dose of Johnson & Johnson, a booster dose is not recommended.
It is up to us to end the pandemic and we must not leave our lives to chance. This year we celebrate the precious gift of immunity to us and our loved ones, choosing the safety of the vaccine and preserving the efforts and sacrifices of the last two years.
