Professor Vlachos in SKAI: Pregnant women are more vulnerable to coronavirus – Why is it a high risk group |

by

Women during pregnancy are more vulnerable in the coronary artery, Nikos Vlachos, professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Assisted Reproduction at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, told SKAI.

As he explained, they are considered a high risk group as the complications of the coronary artery during pregnancy are more serious.

Analyzing how pregnancy could be described as a state of immunosuppression, which creates a vulnerability.

“Vaccination is completely safe for all women of childbearing age, for women who are pregnant regardless of the trimester of pregnancy, for women who are breastfeeding, for women who are in the process of assisted reproduction techniques,” she added.

The professor reminded that the above has been clarified from a very early age, by the Hellenic Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.

“It is absolutely clear, it has been discussed extensively in all the medical conferences we participate in, it has been posted on the site of the Greek Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists… All scientific organizations in America and England and Australia and the EU agree that the vaccine is completely safe in pregnancy “she said and added that she sincerely understands the concern of women who are pregnant, which is a generalized concern for anything new.

“What I can not understand is the wrong counseling of my colleagues, because I have also found that there are colleagues to advise women not to get the vaccine, I have seen colleagues working in vaccines to which I have sent my own patients with a document, to chase them away and tell them that the vaccine is not safe and that I think is the worst that can happen.
