Brazil recorded 197 deaths from Covid and 62,253 cases of the disease this Thursday (15). With that, the country reaches 691,632 lives lost and 35,823,734 infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
The moving average of deaths is 128 per day, up 42% compared to the data from 14 days ago. The moving average of cases is 37,241 per day, up 39% over the same period.
The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between SheetUOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic.
The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.
For the fourth consecutive day, data collection from Rio de Janeiro was not possible due to server problems.
In all, 182,396,458 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil.
Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,353,406 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.
Thus, the country already has 84.9% of the population with the 1st dose and 80.23% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.
So far, 106,908,870 people have already taken the third dose, and 38,500,172, the fourth.
The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and withdrew information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
