Brazil has recorded the highest number of Covid cases since July 19 of this year, when 78,405 infections were documented. This Friday (23), 70,415 cases of the disease were registered.

Rio de Janeiro is particularly responsible for the expressive value. After days without disclosure, the state has again updated its Covid information platform. The impoundment had more than 30,000 cases.

In addition to the more than 70 thousand cases, 282 deaths from Covid were recorded. In this way, the country reaches 692,854 lives lost and 36,150,842 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Moving averages of deaths and cases remain on the rise, compared to two weeks earlier. The number of deaths now stands at 154 per day, an increase of 56%, and the highest figure since August 23 of this year, when the average was 159 per day.

The average number of cases, in turn, grew by 36% and reached 39,473 infections per day.

The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

In all, 182,426,774 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil.

Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,459,720 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.92% of the population with the 1st dose and 80.28% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

So far, 107,286,410 people have already taken the third dose, and 39,019,276, the fourth.

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and withdrew information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
