by

Infertility is an important problem of reproductive health with great social importance.

It is estimated that 72.4 million couples are infertile worldwide and that 40.5 million of them are seeking fertility treatment. The most commonly accepted definition of infertility is described as “disease of the reproductive system determined by the failure to achieve a pregnancy after 12 months or more of normal, unprotected intercourse”.

Reproductive surgery is an important part of the diagnosis and treatment of female infertility. It has an important role for the future assurance of fertility in women in need of gynecological surgery, enabling the ability to spontaneously conceive, or significantly increasing the success rates of IVF. In the cases where there is already a pathophysiological finding, where it interferes with normal conception, surgical interventions are applied where they repair the respective pathology and increase the probability of a future normal pregnancy. These cases can reach 75%. The most important surgical interventions used to improve female reproduction are laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.

LAPAROSCOPY
During laparoscopy, the required surgery is done through very small incisions in the abdomen, only 5 millimeters in size. This technique is used to diagnose and repair damage that may have occurred in the reproductive system, such as the removal of fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and adhesions that alter the connection between the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

POSTOSCOPY
It is a pioneering method of examining the inside of the uterus as it is examined with great precision and is used to diagnose and treat cases of infertility. The hysteroscopy method can treat fibroids and polyps, but also other causes of infertility, such as adhesions and the presence of a uterine diaphragm, it is a procedure without incisions and with minimal invasive pain and the restoration of normal function is carried out at the same time day.

in conclusion

The solution is given in a percentage that reaches 75-80%, possibly with a simple surgical intervention by the specialist gynecologist in reproductive surgery in combination with complementary treatments or tests that will help significantly in the better functioning of the woman’s hormones and respectively in the improvement and strengthening of sperm of men.

The comprehensive and personalized care of these couples by the specialist, intervening in the cases described, will lead to IVF the couples who really need treatment, significantly increasing the success rates of IVF.
