The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 5,641, of which 8 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,049,936 (daily change + 0.5%), of which 50.4% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 214 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,964 are related to an already known case. The ???????? for the territory based on the cases is estimated at 0.96 (95% DE: 0.87 – 1.05).
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 69, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 20,126 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 665 (61.4% men). Their median age is 63 years. 78.9% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 553 (83.16%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 112 (16.84%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,691 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 370 (daily change + 25.42%). The average seven-day admission is 333 patients. The median age of cases is 38 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 7,943,393 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests 36,002,641 samples have been tested. The seven-day average is 334,868 sample checks.
Self-tests: As of December 21, 2021, 65,502,380 self-diagnostic test results have been recorded electronically. Of the 3,720,353 people who came for re-examination, 219,958 positive results have been recorded.
Bulk Sampling EODY: On December 21, 2021, 170 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 24,217 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 618 positives were found (2.55%).
