The spread of the coronavirus in our country is rapid, with the cases breaking every negative record. As the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris stated on ERT, the cases today, Tuesday, are expected to exceed 15,000, with the result that the possibility for new measures earlier is visible.
According to the Minister of Health, all possibilities are open for the implementation of the measures earlier. On Wednesday, Mr. Plevris stressed, the Committee of Experts will meet to decide whether the measures will take effect before January 3rd. “We want to see both today and tomorrow,” he said.
It is noted that the Omicron mutation already reaches 70% of daily cases in recent days in Attica, as Microbiology professor Athanasios Tsakris told SKAI. 9,284 cases were recorded on Monday.
The Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiadis, spoke to SKAI about the new measures announced yesterday by the government in the shadow of the Omicron expansion. Commenting on the change of operating hours from January 3 to catering and entertainment, Mr. Georgiadis stated that “the catering will not be damaged, the entertainment centers will indeed suffer”.
“At the moment, there is no discussion at the table for the extension of the school holidays,” explained the general secretary of the government, Thanassis Kontogeorgis, through SKAI 100.3.
