Brazil recorded 411 deaths by Covid and 11,902 cases of the disease, this Thursday (4). With this, the country has lost 608,715 lives and 21,846,577 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Acre and Rio de Janeiro did not release data this Thursday.
Moving averages of deaths and cases are declining, but were affected by underreporting due to the holiday, which occurs due to notification delays in the health departments.
The country now averages 227 deaths a day and 9,443 daily infections, down 36 percent and 22 percent, respectively, from two weeks ago.
Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.
Covid-19 vaccination data, also collected by the consortium, were updated in 23 states and the Federal District.
Brazil registered 1,577,289 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Thursday. According to data from the state health departments, there were 362,069 first doses and 916,427 second. 2,196 single doses and 296,597 booster doses were also recorded.
EspĂrito Santo registered negative single doses (-1), as well as Minas Gerais (-285) and PiauĂ (-1). Mato Grosso do Sul (-389) and PiauĂ (-9,048) also registered negative values of first doses.
In all, 155,177,415 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil — 113,271,476 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent. Added to the single doses of the Janssen vaccine against Covid, there are already 117,805,832 people with a complete vaccination schedule in the country.
Thus, the country already has 72.74% of the population with the 1st dose and 55.23% of Brazilians with a complete vaccination schedule. Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 95.73% and 72.68%.
Even those who completed the vaccination schedule with two doses must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distance, experts say.
The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
