SP announces pre-registration for Covid vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years

by

The João Doria government (PSDB) announced, this Wednesday (12), the beginning of the pre-registration of children aged 5 to 11 for vaccination against the coronavirus. The information was given at a press conference at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, in Morumbi, to announce measures to combat the coronavirus.

According to the governor, registration can now be done on the Vacina Já website.

As of the arrival of the doses in São Paulo, vaccination will begin with children with comorbidities. To prove the condition, they will need to present exams, prescriptions, medical report or prescription.

“When the vaccination arrives, immediately the state starts vaccinating this public, which is so awaited by fathers, mothers, guardians and by us too”, said the coordinator of immunization of the state, Regiane de Paula.

According to the Ministry of Health, the first batch with 1.2 million pediatric doses of the Pfizer vaccine is expected to arrive in Brazil this Thursday (13), at Viracopos Airport, in Campinas (93 km from SP). The distribution will follow the population criterion.

In the state of São Paulo, which has 20.73% of the population between 5 and 11 years old, vaccination is scheduled to start on Monday (17).

The advance of the ômicron variant in the country reinforces the need to vaccinate children as soon as possible.

The city hall of São Caetano do Sul (ABC) started inviting parents of children between five and 11 years old to pre-register on the VacinaJá website before the system was released by the São Paulo government.

A post on the organ’s profile on Instagram, this Monday (10), says that it is mandatory to present the child’s CPF both in the registration and in the vaccination.
