The city of São Paulo began vaccinating children against Covid-19 this Monday morning (17), at an event at Hospital Cruz Verde, in the south zone, specializing in the treatment of people with cerebral palsy.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB), who accompanied the immunization of three hospital patients, Beatriz Araújo Marcelo, 8 years old, Brayan Miguel Costa, 5, and Eloá Silva de Oliveira, 10, the first vaccinated in the capital. .
In all, ten child patients at the hospital would be vaccinated this Monday.
The city of São Paulo received approximately 64,000 doses of pediatric vaccine from Pfizer in the first batch. According to the municipal secretary of Health, Edson Aparecido, at least 235,000 children are able to be immunized in this first phase, which prioritizes children with comorbidities, disabilities, indigenous people or quilombolas.
According to the state government, vaccination of children in this first group should occur until February 10, when immunization begins by age group in descending order from 11 years.

In order to be immunized, children must be accompanied by a guardian over 18 years of age and present an identification document (preferably CPF), proof of address in the name of parents or guardians (except for the village population) and vaccination card. In the absence of the CPF, the RG or birth certificate will be accepted.
In addition, it will be necessary to prove the comorbidity. Physical or digital exams, prescriptions, report or prescription can be presented, containing the doctor’s CRM and with up to two years of issuance.
The disability can be proven with a medical report, free public transport card, documents proving attendance at rehabilitation centers or specialized units, or an official identity document indicating the disability.
