Event for healthcare professionals discusses the Omicron variant

by

The new wave of Covid-19 raises many doubts – not only in patients, but also in health professionals, about the symptoms of the new variant, the omicron, its transmissibility, the relationship with vaccines and diagnostic tests for the disease.

Even causing milder symptoms and fewer hospitalizations, the variant still causes a lot of concern. The alarming numbers of new cases, in a context of underreporting and lack of tests, put pressure on professionals in the field.

To clarify and discuss what is already known about the Ômicron and prepare the various health professionals to work on the front lines efficiently, the Hematolog and Covidlog platforms, from Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, promote this Wednesday (26), at 19 pm, the roundtable “Covid-19: Unraveling the Ômicron”.

Participation is free upon registration on one of the platforms, and participating professionals will receive an ebook with the main questions and answers discussed at the event.

“We are currently dealing not only with the virus, but with the dissemination of false information and, more than ever, knowledge and science are our main tools to stop the advance of the coronavirus in Brazil”, says Nelson Hamerschlak, hematologist at the Albert Einstein Hospital, who will be present at the debate.

In addition to Hamerschlak, Tarcila Datoguia (hematologist at Einstein), Jairo Tabacow Hidal (endocrinologist at Einstein), Fernando Gatti (Master and Doctor in Infectology at the Federal University of São Paulo) and Clarisse Machado (infectologist and researcher at the Institute of Tropical Medicine at USP and the Einstein Teaching and Research Institute).
