The Ministry of Health receives additional measures to meet public health needslinked to dealing with the coronavirus, which is showing an increase in positivity in the community and an increase in hospitalizations.

According to a decision signed by the Deputy Ministers of Economy, Defense and Health, Mr. Petralias, Kefalogiannis and Themistokleous, 50 hospital beds and intensive care and intensive care beds of the Army Equity Fund Hospital Foundation (NIMTS) are granted to the ESY for the period from October 1st to December 31st.

In addition, the hospital is part of the emergency services of the National Health Service. The beds allocated to the NHS will accommodate patients who have not been infected with the coronavirus.

Patients are not burdened with medical fees and participation in hospitalizations.

The necessary daily medication burdens the EOPYY budget.

Responsible for coordination and supervision of the process of transferring patients to hospital departments or wards with increased care beds at NIMTS, the EKAB is designated.

The 1st Health Region (H.P.) assumes responsibility for the scientific and operational management of the NIMTS beds to be made available and provides the hospital with the required staff (medical, nursing and all kinds of auxiliary staff) and medical equipment, if required. By decision of the general secretary of Health Services, staff working in any employment relationship may be moved to the structures of the 1st Ministry of Health, for the operational needs of the NIMTS.

Also, by decision of the Minister of Health, our country is procuring 35,000 additional treatments of antiviral medicine, which is administered to patients to treat the COVID-19 infection.
