Another international distinction for Metropolitan Hospital, as the Center for Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of Lymphedema-Lymphatic Diseases for Children and Adults was named a “Comprehensive Center of Excellence” by the international network for Lymphatic Education and Lymphatic Disease Research (LE&RN) and is now a one of the best Holistic Lymphedema and Lymphatic Disease Treatment Centers worldwide.

It is noted that the Center for the Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of Lymphedema-Lymphatic Diseases at the Metropolitan Hospital is the first and only center in Greece where the therapeutic treatment of lymphedema-edema is carried out holistically according to the international guidelines of the International Lymphological Society.

Doctors specialized in Lymphatic disease, such as dermatologists, geneticists, radiologists, vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons and pediatricians, and health professionals, such as physical therapists, fitness trainers, dietitians and psychologists, under the guidance of the Lymphologist, E. Dimakakos, provide therapeutic solutions to treat any lymphatic condition.

Lymphedema, one of the most well-known and common diseases of the lymphatic system, is treated with great efficiency in just a few days at Metropolitan Hospital. For optimal treatment, an extensive check of the Lymphatic System is carried out which includes hematological and imaging tests (ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, scintigraphy of lymph vessels, genetic testing, etc.) some of which are performed nationwide only at the Metropolitan Hospital.
